Mission
To empower all Virgin Islanders with access and knowledge to the intrinsic values of martial arts application for the Mind, Body, and Spirit. Foster the competitive values of the U.S. National Karate Championships Competition, World Class Competition, and the Olympic Movement for men, women, and children.
The aim and purpose of VIMADA are to provide opportunities and foster the development of men, women, and children through proper education, health and safety, physical fitness, and martial arts training to compete in the national and international martial arts amateur sports competition.
Vision
The Virgin Islands Martial Arts Development Association is dedicated to educating Virgin Islanders through delivering comprehensive educational, practice, and integrity of martial arts values.
Partner with the Virgin Islands Olympic Association and the Virgin Islands Government to promote the Olympic Values and peace by participating in the Virgin Islands Olympic Academy Programs.
VIMADA will work together in partnership with parents, teachers, law enforcement, and other community leaders to help build a positive community by teaching martial arts values. We support strong family values and maintain the character of the martial arts that teaches responsibility, discipline, honesty, dedication, humility, loyalty, and courage.
Our character development programs, and strong black belt role models directly and positively develop their belief system with the “I Can Do” positive thinking.
VIMADA
Objectives
Develop multiple programs for all ages to learn martial arts and provide safe and competitive venue opportunities that foster positive competitive values on a U.S. National Martial Arts Tournament Competitions, World-Class Competitions, and the Olympic level of performance.
Provide Opportunity
Provide the opportunity to financially challenged persons who otherwise would not have the capacity to study and develop in martial arts programs.
Education
Partner with the V.I. Department of Education and Private Educational Organizations to offer accredited martial arts physical fitness programs in Karate and self-defense.
Olympics
Develop the Virgin Islands U.S. National Martial Arts Competition Team to compete on the U.S. National Karate Competition Circuit, World Cup Championships, and the Olympics Games.
Competitions
Teach and empower men, women, and children the lifelong positive values learned through participation in the practice of martial arts and sports competitions.
Empower Women
Empower women in martial arts through self-defense, Tae Bo Fitness, and sports competition.
Children's Programs
Develop island-wide structured children's martial arts program that will enhance self-value and education through the development of sports competition.
